Doing what I love. Loving what I do.

Bend Over

The bend over show was crazy. I posted some of the pictures on my Facebook page. I received so much love for them. Here are more images.

Chameleone put on a great show.

Zuena on stage. She did not perform  because DRX were ready to come on stage. They were treated like goddesses to extent that all artists had to vacate the backstage as the two came to perform.

Straka Baibe was also present. She made the event 'colourful'

Mowzey  Radio (in white) and Weasel aka Weasel TV (in black) launched their 5th album on Friday 11 at Hotel Africana in Kampala Uganda. The dynamic duo have made a mark on the Ugandan music scene after splitting from Chameleone’s Leone Island crew and forming their own Good Lyfe Crew. They received great reviews in the local papers. Here is The Observer story.

Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda

One of those moments that happen and are supposed to be a milestone and you let them pass by without even noticing. Well, this is one of them. In December 2011 after a few months as  Photo Journalist, I got a chance of shooting 2 heads of state for the 1st time.  This basic image is captured with my Nikon D80 and 135mm lens at the Young Achievers Awards held in Munyonyo. Where President Paul Kagame was  honoured with  the Lifetime Achievement Award. More on Young Achievers Awards. Though I happened to shoot them later that year (see here), this was a milestone in my career.

My workmate at The Observer and a close friend of mine Michael Mubangizi wedded with his Girlfriend Lydia Ainomugisha  on Sun 15th April 2012 at Bugolobi Church Off  Uganda. This post is dedicated to them.Michael Mubangizi and Lydia Promise Ainomugisha now Mr and Mrs Mubangizi

This was revealed by Miss Uganda organisers Kezzi Entertainment at a function held at Kampala Serena Hotel last week. The battle for the crown will kick off with regional tours starting with Mbarara for the Western region. The Mbarara auditions will take place on 14th April at Big Fun Gardens. This will be followed by auditions in Gulu (Diana Gardens) and Jinja (Crested Crane Hotel) on 21st April and 28th April respectively. The contestants from the central region will be auditioned on 2nd May at Guvnor. The top 20 finalists be chosen from all the regional contestants on 11th May and will enter camp at Ndere Centre for preparations and training. According to Brenda Nanyonjo, the training includes personal grooming and etiquette; business and entrepreneurship; skills; public speaking and talent development among others. The finalists will come out on 25th May for what has been dubbed the ‘Talent Nite’ before the grand finale on June 1st at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Potential contestants can pick registration forms from the leading radio stations in the major towns of Uganda as well as Miss Uganda offices on plot 4, 2nd Street Industrial Area. They should be Ugandans between 18-24 years, not married, with no visible tattoos and no criminal record.

I shot this at the inaugural ceremony of the 126th Inter-Parliamentary Union (126th IPU) Assembly on Saturday evening. Its the largest international union of sovereign states of the world. Parliamentarians from 159 national parliaments are expected. It ends on 5th April.

Golden sunset

The rooftop at The Observer has some of the best sunsets as the sun sets behind the Ivory Tower Makerere. So as looked through a window seated at my editor’s desk, I saw this. Awesome.

Its amzing how fast time flies. As we move closer to Women’s day this Thursaday, it reminds me of the very first day I took pictures of Uganda’s President Museveni. See my post Women’s Day on this blog. Below are some of the things that happen at almost every national function. These pictures were taken at a recent National function in Kasese to mark 31 years when the first bullet was fired in the 5 year guerilla war that brought Uganda’s current president to power.
